5 key  ideas for how to enjoy your weekends while keeping to your healthy eating routine . This is 5 tips that will help you stay on track of staying healthy on the weekends:

  1. Have a fun list of family activities like bike rides or outdoor games to bring variety and adventure that does not revolve around food.  This will allow everyone to burn calories at the exact same time and share and experience.  You can suggest this also to  friends group-- instead of going out for beverages, go for a hike together.  Pick up  brochures from hotel lobbies or check the web for local happenings in your area that might interest them.
  2. Bring a water bottle with you to your weekend activities. This will help you get your water for the day and withstand the temptation to get a soda or other high-calorie drinks. For added taste and visual appeal add some fresh fruit to the mix like cut up lemon, limes, or strawberries.
  3. If you are going to be out all day, pack some healthy treats in case you get hungry.  This is one of the best things you can do as it really gives your food quickly before you get sucked in by  being starved at the shopping center, where the only alternatives are unhealthy food.
  4. Set Monday as your "Weight loss accountability day." You are more likely to resist temptation if you know that you will be facing the scale and measuring tape first thing Monday morning.
  5. Have this strategy as a regular practice.  If you are going out to eat go to the restaurant first to to the website beforehand and examine their menu. You'll have plenty of time making a healthy option prior to you get there. This helps so much as the menus pictures, smells etc. are designed to entice us and this keeps us looking forward to our choice before we are getting sold something on something that is not in our best interest.

With a little extra effort and planning, you can turn weekends into satisfying and enjoyable experiences and an opportunity to keep your healthy eating program moving in the ideal direction. It's everything about striking that ideal balance of finding enjoyable and effective activities and actions that bring us joy, excitement and health.
